Lauren McGowan, DVM

Dr. Lauren McGowan, our Chief of Staff, attended Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut for her undergraduate degree, and the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Basseterre, St. Kitts for her veterinary degree. Prior to joining our team, she practiced at other New York veterinary hospitals in Plainview, Port Washington, Huntington, Westbury, and Oyster Bay. Her special interests include ultrasonography, radiology, internal medicine and animal emergency/critical care.

In her free time, Dr. McGowan enjoys fishing, boating, going to the beach, biking, and traveling. She has four rescue dogs — Kiwi (a Yorkshire terrier who was hypoglycemic as a puppy), Mango (a mix who was hit by a car and lost a leg), Pecan (a maltipoo who was born with cataracts and needed surgery to remove them), and Hazelnut (a Yorkshire terrier who has a shoulder deformity). She clearly loves animals – all shapes and sizes – and we couldn't be more thrilled to have her on our team!
